In OSI we recognize that many families experience domestic violence and it is a contributing factor to the need for a number of publicly and privately financed social services. This Web site offers a variety of information, tools and other resources on the topic of domestic violence. OSI provides domestic violence services.
The Domestic Violence Council advises the Director of OSI on issues of domestic violence. The Council is committed to enhancing safety for victims/survivors of domestic violence in the way OSI services are delivered and to developing systems that ensure coordinated community response to prevent violence.
DHS Children, Adults and Families (CAF) contracts with community-based domestic violence and sexual assault programs for services to adult victims and their children. Services include 24 hour crisis lines, 24 hour crisis response, emergency shelter, safety planning, peer support, information and referral and advocacy.
OSI CAF administers the Domestic and Sexual Violence Funds Program. CAF makes grants to private non-profit agencies throughout Oregon that provide domestic violence and/or sexual assault services to adult victims and their children. Services include 24 hour crisis lines, 24 hour crisis response, emergency shelter, safety planning, peer support, information and referral and advocacy.
Revenue sources for the funds come from a surcharge on marriage licenses and domestic partnerships, the Criminal Fine Assessment Account and the Federal Family Violence Prevention and Services Act funds from the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services.
